Race photography that fits your event

What types of events can use Racedays Photo?

Choose photographers, gallery settings, sponsors and pricing to suit your event. Small races can use volunteers with phones; larger events can bring many photographers and cameras into one gallery. The platform adapts processing capacity around race day. Large or complex events can be planned with us through the quote form; see also the platform.

Can runners find photos where their bib number is hidden?

Yes, when there is enough evidence to recognize the person. AI reads visible bibs and uses a connected start list to resolve partly hidden numbers when they match uniquely. Face recognition connects photos of the same person within the race, allowing a confirmed bib to carry across to photos where it is not visible. Participants can also search with a selfie after giving consent. Covered faces, motion blur and poorly visible bibs can limit matches; missing information is not treated as a confirmed number.

Can we use our own photographers, and can you help us find more?

Run photography yourself with volunteers and your own photographers. The Racedays Photo app provides an in-app camera and uploads; FTP-enabled cameras can send during the race, and photographers can upload files through the event's existing browser link. If you need help, find photographers in the app and contact them within the service, or ask Racedays to introduce photographers familiar with the system. Assignments, availability and any photographer fees are agreed separately. You keep control of the event and gallery.

How can sponsors benefit from race photos?

Add linked sponsor logos to the gallery where participants come to find and download their memories. A sponsor strip can also put logos on photos. A well-visited gallery can deliver thousands of logo impressions, with actual reach depending on traffic. The dashboard shows measured gallery impressions and clicks, and you can create shareable reports for one sponsor or all sponsors together. Gallery reporting does not measure subsequent sharing or exposure of downloaded photos. Free, sponsor-funded photos are one of the setups you can choose.

What is a trail overlay, and how does it work?

Overlays are an optional addition to still photos, including Strava-inspired styles. Participants choose a style combining their photo with name, time and distance. Some styles place a 3D course in the landscape and require an available course map; others work without one. Connected results lock the official time and distance. The overlay is generated after purchase, with advanced trail overlays usually taking around 15–60 seconds. Examples and available styles are shown in the gallery before purchase.

What does Racedays Photo cost, and can we offer free photos?

Setup, the organizer dashboard and the app have no subscription fee. The standard photo fee is NOK 1 per uploaded and processed photo, reduced to NOK 0.75 when Racedays Timing times the event and it is connected with synced results. Offer free photos, set a per-photo price, choose bundles or charge less for additional photos of the same person. For paid photos, Racedays takes 10% of sales; Dintero's payment fee also applies. Short videos up to 30 seconds have a separate upload fee: NOK 5, or NOK 4 with Racedays Timing. See pricing and the calculator.

What statistics and collaboration tools does the organizer get?

The web organizer dashboard and Racedays Photo app provide regularly updated event figures: photos, photographers, gallery visits, sales or free downloads, and sponsor activity. Connected results allow relevant figures to be broken down by distance and class. Invite colleagues to your team and message photographers within the service. Sponsor reports, race recaps and marketing materials help you put the information to use. Fotohjelperen is the dashboard AI assistant for setup and product questions, using race information you have access to.

How does the organizer receive photo sales revenue?

With Dintero Split Payout, the organizer is the seller and Racedays acts as intermediary. Each purchase is split: Racedays receives the platform share and Dintero handles the organizer's share. Dintero's payment fee is deducted from the organizer's share, with monthly payouts to the registered bank account after the Dintero agreement is approved. The finance area shows sales, photo fees and available settlement information.

Can we connect timing results and look up participants by name?

Yes. Connecting supported timing sources improves the evidence for bib reading, statistics and overlays with correct results. In the organizer dashboard, you can find a participant in the connected start or results list by searching their name, then find relevant photos. Public participant photo search uses bib numbers and selfies. Name lookup in the organizer's results list is separate from public photo search.

How quickly do photos appear in the gallery?

Photographers can send from cameras using FTP or upload from the app and browser during the race. Originals are stored first; previews, bib reading and face indexing follow. Photos are published continuously, with a workflow designed to make them searchable within seconds of upload. Actual time depends on connectivity, file size, the queue and AI services. Video and advanced overlays take longer than ordinary photos. Temporary bib-reading outages can mean photos appear first and receive bib tags later.

How do participants find and receive their photos?

Participants open the event link or QR code, search by bib number or selfie and choose their photos. Free originals can be downloaded from the gallery. For paid events, selected files go to the cart, where the participant enters an email, accepts the terms and pays. The confirmation page and email provide purchased originals without the preview watermark. Short videos have playable previews and are delivered as video files. Organizers can share the gallery using materials from the marketing area.

How does Racedays Photo handle GDPR and face data?

Organizers receive an agreement and participant information as part of setup. Face recognition operates within the relevant event, and selfie search requires active consent. Racedays does not store the search selfie. Amazon Rekognition face processing takes place in the EU; other providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, as explained in the privacy policy. Participants can contact us about access, deletion or hiding themselves in a gallery. Read about legal bases, providers, retention and rights, and the organizer's responsibilities.
